Protecting Your Hair from the Summer Heat

Hey everyone,

Check out my latest article on the Examiner.com - Info 101: How Can I Protect My Hair in the Summer? It's a re-vamp/throwback of an older post, but of course still relevant for the summer - especially with upcoming July 4th outdoor celebrations this weekend :)

Here is a sneak peek...

Just as you shop for sunscreen products in the summer months, you also need to think about protecting your hair as well.
The sun’s ultraviolet rays not only cause severe skin damage, but can also damage your hair from the cuticle to the cortex – from the outside in.
Sun, salt, sand and chlorine are all harsh on your hair. The best way to protect your hair from these elements is to cover it.
When you are going to be outside in the sun for long periods of time i.e. a trip to the beach, outside concert or fair, use a silk/satin scarf, silk/satin lined cap or hat, or even an umbrella to protect your hair.
Another step you can take to protect your hair from summer elements is to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

Sun, salt, sand and chlorine all rob your hair of moisture, which is an integral part of maintaining healthy hair....

Yay! I'm a Self Published Author!!!

Hey everyone,

I have been super busy these last few months, vending and speaking at hair events, and working on new products and stocking up the Bobeam Natural Products website and what goes without saying neglecting my blog. I am making a commitment today to do better :)

And as the title of this blog states I am a Self-Published Author!!! I can now cross that off  my vision board - and I'm sooo psyched.  My book is titled - The Natural Hair Care Journey... Top 5 Most-Asked Questions.

My plan is for it to be the first in a series of books. This one answers the questions I get from people I meet while riding public transportation, standing in check-out and fast food lines, etc... The first being "How Do I Get My Hair to Do That? - something people always ask when they see me wearing a fresh (and still wet) wash and go or fresh twist-out :)

Other topics are keeping hair moisturized, hair growth, avoiding becoming a product junkie and DIY easy product recipes.

The book is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle. Click here to order :) Also check out the book video promo below.
